Yobe 364 Medical Assistants: Another Huge Obstacle on Buni’s Path to Victory

As the elections approaches, the good people of Yobe are still unclear whether to trust their affairs in the hands of Gov. Buni or substitute him with another candidate from one of the opposition parties.

However, recalling the blatant disrespect and disregard of the rights and welfare of the 364 medical assistants and their families, it will be difficult to trust Gov. Buni. It appears like the incident of the Yobe Scholarship Board, the Hospital Management Board (HMB) are on course to betray the Governor.

Governor Buni’s problems and core sabotage machineries are actually within rather that outside of his government. There is no reason in Yobe to have these critical frontline workforces casualised and on zero-hours contract. A Governor with the right set of people would have long ago offered permanent and pensionable appointments.

It is not too late for Gov. Buni to be brave and investigate the situation of the medical assistants and come to their rescue by employing them on permanent basis. Gov. Buni must restructure and reform the Yobe health system. Gov. Buni, wake up and turn around this critical sector.
