About Twenty Thousand pupils in public and private schools in Nguru Central Constituency were thrown in an ecstatic mood as they received free school uniforms and writing materials from member representing the Constituency at the State Assembly, Lawan Sani Inuwa.
The lawmaker also distributed various items aimed at economically empowering about 1000 members of his constituency.
Lawan, who noted that empowerment remained the best way to end poverty in Nigeria said, he was giving out the items as a way of expressing his appreciation to the people for the opportunity giving to him to represent them at the State legislative house for four years.
Lawan stated that, rather than dole out money to the people, he felt that empowering them to be able to make their own money and be self-sustained was the best thing to do and thanked Governor Mai Mala Buni for the support and the right leadership he has been providing for the State.
A business mogul and philanthropist, Alh Balarabe Abdullahi popularly known as Balarabe DJ has also launched his second phase of empowerment by disbursing N100m to indigents women and youths in Nguru Local Government.
The gesture according to Balarabe DJ is to eradicate poverty and provide less-priviledged people with means of livelyhood.
Governor Mai Mala Buni who was represented by his deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana commended the lawmaker and Balarabe Abdullahi for touching the lives of their people positively and urged other well-meaning people in both private and public sectors to emulate them.
Hon. Bashir Sheriff Machina who physically attended the well-organised event commended Lawan Inuwa and Balarabe DJ for their people-orientated programmes which have positive impact on the lives of their people.
Items distributed by Lawan Sani Inuwa were 20 thousand school uniforms, 20 thousand teaching and learning materials, 100 wood-canoe, school furnitures 150 sewing machines and paster machines among others.
