A total of 2,200 civil servants in Yobe State have participated in a series of promotion examinations to move up to the next level and enhance productivity.
The head of service (HoS), Alhaji Garba Bilal, made this known when he monitored the conduct of the 2023 civil service promotion examinations in one of the centres in Damaturu, the state capital.
Garba said Government Girls Secondary School, Damaturu has a total of 1,300, College of Administration, Management and Technology, Potiskum, 515, and Umar Sulaiman College of Education, Gashua, 385 civil servants writing for the examination respectively.
He said the purpose of the examinations was to enhance productivity and efficiency in the service as well as to acquaint the civil servants with government policies and programmes.
He said, ” We are doing everything possible to reposition the civil service and one of the areas we are going to do this is to ensure that there is training and retraining of civil servants to enhance service delivery in the state.”
The HoS commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for creating the enabling environment for this year’s exams to take place in Damaturu, Gashua and Potiskum towns.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise assuring the full support and cooperation of civil servants for the Buni administration to implement its developmental policies and programmes for the benefit of all.
