Muhammadu Buhari, the former president of Nigeria, has departed Abuja for his hometown in Daura, Katsina State, following the inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the country’s new leader.
After handing over to Tinubu, Buhari and his First Lady, Aisha Buhari, quickly departed the Abuja inauguration location.
In a video posted on Twitter on Monday, Bashir Ahmad, a former president’s adviser, revealed the information.
Sharing the video he tweeted: “Alhamdulillah. President Muhammadu Buhari departs Abuja for Daura, his hometown, after eight years serving the country as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Thank you, Baba.”
