On July 24, 2023, airstrikes carried out by the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) targeting Alhaji Nashama’s enclave in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State resulted in the death of many terrorists who were loyal to the infamous terrorists’ leader Alhaji Nashama.

Following genuine and actionable intelligence indications that the terrorists were cavorting at Tsamre in Birnin Magaji LGA with the intention of assaulting people and rustling cattle, strikes were conducted.

The Air Component of OPHD bombed the area in multiple passes, according to Zagazola Makama Intelligence sources, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region. This resulted in the death of several terrorists as well as the destruction of their camps and enclave.

Similar airstrikes were also carried out against terrorist strongholds in the Niger State villages of Palele and Hanawanka, both of which are located in Shiroro LGA.

After information showed a movement of militants from Katsina and Zamfara State who had been under heavy pressure from military assaults, this became essential.
On July 25, 2023, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai also carried out airstrikes in the northeast targeting a terrorist hideaway in Borno State’s Bama Local Government Area, some 1.5 kilometers to the east of Arra.

The Land Component of Operation Hadin Kai wiped out the militants from Arra, a notorious terrorist hideaway close to Sambisa Forest.

The directive to all component commanders is to ensure they keep these terrorists on their toes and ensure they and their supporters are on the run until they surrender.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar has expressed delight with the heightened level of morale and commitment among NAF pilots and other support staff while also encouraging them to maintain the momentum, “said the sources.
