Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the death of seven persons in a fresh attack carried out by suspected gunmen in Ningi Local Government Area.
Ahmed Wakili, the police public relations officer of the area command disclosed this in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday
According to Wakili, the gunmen attacked the locals and fired sporadically into the air.
Seven people were killed and many were injured.

He explained that during the operation, one of their personnel was injured and three of the suspect were neutralized.
‘Today, we woke up with very sad news. We received a distress call that some bandits had attacked Kada and Gamji villages under Burra district of Ningi LGA. They came in large numbers, shooting sporadically, as a result, seven people were killed.
‘Operatives of the command in conjunction with the Nigerian military, engaged the bandits, and three of them were neutralized in the process while others scampered in disarray into the nearby bush with possible gunshot wounds.
‘One of the personnel, a soldier, was injured and rushed to the hospital where he is presently receiving treatment.’
The victims were all from Gamji village.
In recent time, reports has it that, Ningi LGA has been constantly vulnerable to attacks due to its proximity to Lame-Burra Forest Reserve, a hideout for kidnappers in the state.
However, he assured the operatives in conjunction with other sister security organization are working tirelessly in ensuring safety of the people.
