Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has on Thursday 10th August 2023, flagged off first phase for distribution of food palliative to vulnerable households in Damaturu the state capital.
With Gov. Buni targets of 400,000 households, similar distribution event was held in Fune and Jakusko on the 12th and 15th of August 2023 in accordance with state palliative committee.
The committee set by Buni has carried an in-depth assessment of the areas of intervention; identified vulnerable persons; types of interventions and has developed an accountability mechanism to ensure that intervention reaches approximately 400,000 households within the government available resources.
Source told Maidawaarewa that the committee set by the governor are currently finalizing logistics to commence similar palliative distribution in Potiskum, Gulani and Bade local government in second phase.

According to the executive secretary of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency Dr. Mohammed Goje, Nigerian Labour Congree, Civil Society Organisation, Traditional and Religious leaders, Youth and Women Group, security and other stakeholders at each local government are dully briefed before comencement.
“We are in trying moments, any support by individuals groups or organisations at any level to support vulnerable persons is encouraged.” Goje added.
