Governor Kefas moves to reposition tertiary Institutions in Taraba

Dr. Agbu Kefas, Taraba State Governor, is making frantic efforts to reposition all Tertiary Institutions in the State in line with global best practice.

Kefas who gave this impression during a meeting with heads of Tertiary Institutions in state reassured them that funding will not be a problem for them, expressing his determination to sink huge sums from the loans he obtained on Education.

 

He approved the payment of outstanding salaries of staffs of Taraba State University and further stated that, tertiary institutions will be given due attention

Kefas said the loans will be geared to specific projects for transparency and accountability and assured the dons that he Will be available to be attending to their needs.

The Governor noted that his Administration is thinking outside the box to raise more funds to cater for the huge budget required to revamp the Education sector likewise Agriculture and solid Minerals as a way of increasing the Internally generated revenue IGR of the State.

He said solar energy and other sources of Power would be exploited to solve the Problem of energy crisis in Schools.

Commenting, the heads of Tertiary Institutions in Taraba State promised to Cooperate with the government in its efforts to provide affordable and qualitative education in the State.

In attendance at the meeting were the the Vice Chancellor Taraba State University Jalingo, the Provosts College of Education Zing, College of Agriculture Jalingo, College of Nursing and Midwifery, Jalingo, College of Health Technology Takum as well as the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Taraba State.
