Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has flagged off Taraba Education Students Identification Enrolment System TESIS in Jalingo for the proper and smooth take off of the free education policy of his Administration.
designed to ensure that every child in Taraba State has access to quality education.
Flagging off the programme, Governor Agbu Kefas reiterated the commitments of his administration to transform the education Sector in the State in the interest of future generation.
The Governor said teachers will also be captured in recognition of their roles in Primary and Secondary Schools Education as their dedication and insights are key in ensuring high standards of learning in Schools.
He disclosed that the State Government will collaborate with relevant Agencies for a sustainable framework for educational excellence in Taraba State.
In her remarks, Taraba State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin said the need for the digital enrollment of students, pupils, and teachers is necessary to enable the Government to allocate adequate resources and plan well for the education Sector as enrollment in public schools has increased tremendously since the commencement of free and compulsory education policy of Governor Agbu Kefas in Taraba State.
Augustina Godwin maintained that another gain of the programme is to enhance e-learning which if fully implemented Taraba State will be among the three States in the country to have implemented e-learning programme
and called on principals and teachers to support the programme and ensure its success.
Managing Director of Zip Warehousing Limited and Project Consultant Zip TESIS Mrs Uchenna Eshareturi assured that they will provide a system that will greatly enhance the education of the students And pupils.
In a Vote of thanks, a student of Nyamasala Secondary School Jalingo Abdulsalam Aliyu where the programme was flagged up appreciated Governor Agbu Kefas for his huge investment in the education sector.
Shortly on assumption of office as Governor of Taraba State Dr. Agbu Kefas declared free education in Government primary and secondary schools across the State promising to provide uniforms, books to all Students and pupils as well as provide other requirements of the schools.
The Governor equally reduced Schools fees in all the Tertiary institutions in Taraba State which is being hailed by the People and declared degree as the minimum qualification for Primary School teachers while Secondary School teachers must obtain a minimum qualification of a Masters’ degree which is receiving mixed feelings among the people.
The occasion was attended by the State Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali and members of the National Assembly from the State and top Government functionaries.
