Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas is poised to provide access roads and potable water in the nooks and crannies of Taraba State.
Kefas made this known when he hosted Nigeria Army Engineers and officials of the Taraba Road Construction and Maintenance Agency, TARCMA at the Exco Chamber Government House Jalingo on Monday who visited to present their proposals to construct roads across Taraba State and provide portable water in Jalingo, Wukari, and Ibi towns.
The Governor said the collaboration between the Nigerian Army Engineers with TARCMA will access hard to reach areas as well as have the opportunity of reviving the State own Company to compete favourably with other companies.
He said he is going to get back to the Nigerian Army Engineers as soon as relevant consultations and decision are made.
Leader of the Nigerian Army Engineers, Brigadier General Sani Bello said their team of engineers has already assessed both roads and water projects that need to be fixed across the State.
assuring that if given the opportunity they will address the Infrastructural deficit in this very important areas of human needs.
He explained that the Jalingo water system and that of Wukari, Ibi will be fixed which at the moment the facilities are made up of weak, non-functional pipes and dilapidated storage tanks that requaire additional reservoirs and others facilities.
General Sani Bello said both the water projects in Jalingo, Wukari and Ibi will cost the State just over N18 billion.
On road construction, the General said the first phase of the intervention will cover streets in Jalingo and other parts of the State including, TSBS, Anguwan Kassa, NNPC, Deeper Life, Gen Faransa and Gen Sinjen Roads.
Other roads to be constructed are the Lekitaba – Kakara road in Sardauna Local Govermment, Zing – Lama road in Zing, Garin Abba – Shagarda road in Gassol local Government and Tati- Kpashimbe, Bissaula -Gatari roads.
