Boko Haram Abduct Borno High Court Judge Along Biu-Damaturu High Way

Borno State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of High Court Judge, Justice Haruna Mshelia, his wife, and orderly by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Gujba village, Yobe State.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), ASP Kenneth Nahum Daso, who confirmed the incident also disclosed that two vehicles filled with passengers were abducted along Damaturu – Kamuya – Buratai Road.

According to the PPRO, a joint security investigation team has been established to track the whereabouts of the abductees and rescue them.

The command urged the public to provide any useful information that can aid in the investigation and rescue operation.

According to reports, the High Court Judge, Justice Haruna Mshelia, his wife, driver and orderly were abducted by the suspected Boko Haram terrorists along Damaturu-Biu road on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Justice Mshelia was said to have been traveling in his vehicle, accompanied by his driver, a security escort and his wife.

“As they approached a curve in the road between Burutai and Buni-Gari, a group of armed men emerged from the bushes, their weapons blazing and barricaded the road.

“The judge’s vehicle screeched to a halt, then attempted to maneuver its way to escape. In the chaos that ensued, Justice Mshelia’s vehicle was stopped by another team of insurgents, taken them hostages and later tool them into Sambisa Forest”, one of the sources said.
