Senate President Ahmad Lawan arrived in Katsina, on Saturday morning, to attend the turbanning of Yusuf, son of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He was received on arrival by the State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport, Katsina.

Yusuf will be turbaned as Talban Daura, making him the District Head of Kwasarawa, by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk.

The event is scheduled to hold in Daura, country home of President Buhari.

In company of the Senate President from Abuja are Senators Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf, Mohammed Sani Musa, and Bello Mandiya.

The Senate President is expected back in Abuja immediately after the event.

When he turbaned four new village heads, on Thursday, the Emir of Daura said they decided to turban Buhari’s son to prevent the new Talba from strolling around and Abuja and Yola, his mother’s hometown, when the president’s tenure is over.

“We are giving him this title to reciprocate the all the good things his father, President Muhammadu Buhari, has done to Daura.”

“Even if you don’t like Buhari, you know that Daura of today is different from what it were six years ago. So, to reciprocate this gesture, we gave him the title of Talban Daura, which he gave to his only son, Yusuf. This will prevent him from strolling around Yola (his mother’s hometown) and Abuja.

The president and his wife are currently in Turkey for a summit.
