The Labour Party LP in Taraba State has disowned a member of the Party Evangelist Philip Munlip for publicly endorsing the PDP Governorship candidate Lt. Col. Kefas Agbu retired. Chairman of the Party in the State Mrs. Esther Gulmu in a Press briefing in Jalingo said the attention of the party has been drowned to the claim by Evangelist Philip Munlip in the media to be the leader and Governorship candidate of the party in Taraba State which the party would not have ordinarily bothered to have joint issues on but because Munlip is neither the leader or the Governorship candidate of the party in the State as he claimed.

Esther Gulmu said to set the record straight “the claim by Philip Munlip of making himself the leader of the Party and Gubernatorial candidate and his endorsement of the PDP candidate in the name of the Labour Party is the highest mischief which has no effects whatsoever as the party in the State at no time abandoned her principal Peter Obi or the quest to take over the Government House in Taraba State in Saturday March 18th, 2023 Governorship Election”. Gulmu called on Tarabans to disregard such endorsement as “it is just an imagination of a desperate man who wants to deceive and mislead the public for personal benefits”.

She maintained that the LP is fully prepared to go into the Governorship election with Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya as it’s sole Gubernatorial candidate and enjoined Tarabans to be wary of such characters like Evangelist Philip Munlip.

Baring his mind, the Governorship candidate of LP Senator Joel Dalami Ikenya noted that he couldn’t have said anything because the State Chairman of the party has Said it all but the issues raised by Munlip affected him directly as a person.

Joel Ikenya observed that in the course of the sponsored press briefing Evangelist Philip Munlip alleged that money was given to him but he sabotaged Peter Obi.

Ikenya expressed happiness that he gannered massive votes for Peter Obi during the Presidential Election in Taraba State describing Philip Munlip who called himself as an Evangelist and his cohorts as moles that are there for their personal gains saying that the logistics provided to the party in the State came after the presidential election and has reached the concerned beneficiaries in all the Local Governments in the State.

The LP Governorship candidate assured Tarabans that he is with all stakeholders of the Party which Munlip is not even part of as he is not a member of any campaign Council of the Party. He said they have concurred poverty of the stomach and they will face development as priority when they come to office and assured Tarabans that they are intact and remained focused and resolute to deliver that is why he is contesting.
