Adamawa State’s governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has dismissed all of his commissioners and other political appointments.
Before noon on Monday, few hours before taking the oath of office for a second term, the governor disbanded his cabinet.
According to a statement made by his press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, who listed the individuals appointed as executive chairs of boards and parastatals, this is the case.
According to the statement, the governor gave specific orders to all the impacted appointees to turn over any government property under their control to the most senior employees in each ministry, department, and agency.
“Governor Fintiri who begins his second term in office on Monday 29th May, 2023, however, excluded political office-holders in statutory commissions from the directive.
“While appreciating the contributions of the affected appointees to the development of the state, the Governor wished them success in their next endeavours,” the statement said.
