The Katsina State Police Command reported that when it thwarted a kidnapping attempt in Tani village in Bindawa LGA, its agents killed two terrorists and found an Ak-47 rifle as well as five rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.
According to the command’s new spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, who made the announcement in a statement, the terrorists stormed the neighborhood carrying AK-47 rifles and started shooting randomly before attacking Yahaya Usman’s home and trying to kidnap him while inflicting a deep wound on his head.
The timely intervention of the Bindawa Divisional Police Officer and his team upon receipt of the report, resulting in a fierce gun duel, foiled the kidnap attempt.
The two recovered bodies were said to be those of the suspected terrorists and arms smugglers identified as Sani Kokaya and Ummara, who were both from Kaita LGA of the state.
According to ASP Sadiq, both of them have been on the command’s wanted list.
