The Taraba State High Court sitting in Jalingo presided over by Justice Nuhu Adi has re-instated Alhaji Inuwa Bakari, the embattled Acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the State, setting aside the appointment of Abubakar Bawa.

Mr. Bawa is the former Special Adviser on Political Matters to the immediate past Governor of the State Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku.

In a judgement, Justice Nuhu Adi declared that the appointment of Abubakar Bawa was invalid, unconstitutional, null and void.

The Court restrained Abubakar Bawa from perpetually parading himself as the State Chairman of the PDP and from occupying that office.

It could be recalled that the Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo had earlier struck out a case instituted by Alhaji Inuwa Bakari challenging his removal as the Acting Chairman of the Party and appointment of Abubakar Bawa for lack of jurisdiction after which Inuwa Bakari instituted a fresh case at the State High Court which reinstated him.

Speaking with Maidawaarewacom in Jalingo the reinstated Acting Chairman Alhaji Inuwa Bakari thanked God and his supporters who worked hard to make sure that the injustice and illegality metted on him did not stand and the Press for following all the crisis to this moment.

Inuwa Bakari said he challenged the appointment of Abubakar Bawa not for his sake but for the Party to ensure that the right thing is done as enshrined in Constitution of the Party as the position of the Chairman of the party is elective not appointive.

“If this is allowed to continue the party will not conduct election any more anyone can be appointed to rule the Party which is unconstitutional, I am not fighting anyone because majority of members are with me so for any reason election must be conducted” Inuwa said.

In a swift reaction, the removed Chairman of the Party Abubakar Bawa said as far as he is concerned he is still the Chairman as he is not satisfied with the judgement.

“I am holding my judgement at the Federal High Court which confirmed me as the Chairman of PDP in Taraba State since they did not appeal instead of them going to the Court of Appeal they went to a Court of equal jurisdiction so I am not even aware of that Judgement”.

He said once the path of truth is deviated their is always be Problem and called on all the members of the Party in Taraba State to remain calm as politics is s contest saying that by God’s grace everything Will be well.

On his next line of action Bawa said he is waiting for advice of his Counsels and What ever they said is What he will do.

However, the duo are still parading themselves as chairman of the party, signaling a continuity of the crisis.

Both men had attended the swearing-in of new commissioners in the state on that capacity.

From the beginning of this leadership crisis to date, this reporter can observed that the party’s secretariat has been characterized by several uncertainties and clashes of interest.
