Manchester City re-opened a six-point gap over Liverpool in the Premier League with a tense win over Everton at Goodison Park.

With Liverpool moving to within three points of City this week after the Blues lost to Tottenham last time out.

Guardiola’s men were far from their best but scraped a late win thanks to Phil Foden’s goal coming from Bernardo Silva’s cross was defelected to Michael Keane, but the defender made a disastrous mistake and Foden slipped in for a tap-in and gave city a hard earned lead.

Everton were unable to stage a late comeback, suffering a defeat that leaves them 17th in the table.
