Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas has commissioned Senator Daisy Danjuma Eye Hospital in Takum, Taraba State named after Daisy Danjuma, wife to General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma retired.
Commissioning the Eye Hospital one of the offshoots of the TY Danjuma Foundation, Dr Agbu Kefas said the contributions of Danjuma to the progress and development of Taraba State are numerous and impactful Which positively touched the lives of many across Nigeria.
Kefas noted that the Eye Hospital will surely provide essential services to the people of the State and urged people of the state to patronize and safeguard its facilities and prayed God to bless and replenish General TY Danjuma.
“Today, I joined General TY Danjuma in commissioning the Daisy Danjuma Eye Hospital in Takum, this magnificent facility provided by the TY Danjuma Foundation will no doubt provide comprehensive Eye care Services not only to the host Community but also to the entire People of Taraba State at a subsidies rate, we can’t appreciate General TY Danjuma enough for his numerous Developmental initiatives across Taraba State” Governor Kefas maintained.
Commenting, Retired General TY Danjuma said Taraba State is endowed by nature and stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among the populace in order to attract investors to the State.
Danjuma expressed the need for training of youths in ICT, improved infrastructures, and attitudinal change for the progress of the State.
A Trustee of the TY Danjuma Foundation, Dr Ugo Okoli said the Hospital will provide most advanced eye care services to the people while
the Country Director, Development Africa, Mr Joshua Campeneer said the Eye Hospital is an extension of TY Danjuma Foundation Medical Center and Health Services that has been operating for the last three months with various services rendered at a highly subsidized rates.
National Coordinator, National Eye Health programmes, Dr Oten Okolo, described Senator Daisy Danjuma Eye Hospital as a beacon of hope to those who need eye services adding that the National Eye Health Programme is highly impressed with the hospital.
