Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has condoled Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, the Secretary to the Government of the State over the death of his elder brother, late Jonah Kataps.
Kefas, accompanied by senior government officials, visited the family home in Jalingo to pay his respect to the family of late Jonah Kataps who passed away on November 25th, 2024 at the Specialist Hospital Jalingo and will be remembered not only as a beloved brother but a dedicated servant to the people of Taraba.
During the visit, Taraba State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali who conveyed the collective sorrow of the Taraba State Government and the people spoke positively of the deceased, highlighting his patriotism and the significant contributions he made to the State.
The Deputy Governor said the loss of Jonah Kataps resonates far beyond the family and Sardauna Local Government Area, but affecting the entire state.
He offered prayers for divine comfort, asking for strength and fortitude for the bereaved family during this difficult time.
Responding, the Secretary to the Government, Chief Gebon Timothy Katabs who is a younger brother of late Jonah Kataps expressed gratitude to the Governor for his love and support in their trying moment reflecting on the steadfast loyalty of his brother acknowledging him as a strong ally in the mission of the Governor.
Late Jonah Kataps will be remembered as a passionate unionist leader who served as the Chairman of both the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Taraba State as well as Chairman of the State Local Government Service Board.
