Gov Ortom Mourns Scores Killed In Benue By Fulani Herdsmen

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, has laments the killing and invasion of the people of Benue state by Fulani herdsmen.

Gov Ortom, reacting to the recent attack of herdsmen in the state with led to the death of few person’s, called on Benue communities to rise and defend themselves.

Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday attacked a village in Guma Local Government Area, shot one Turner Ajar and an unidentified man on a motorcycle who were on their way to the farm, the team of Agro Rangers who were on patrol ran into the attack, but unfortunately the victims were already dead.

Other person’s killed by another set of herdsmen filled the street in Kpankeeke, a suburb on the outskirts of Naka, headquarters of Gwer West Local Government Area, the Agro Rangers team again alerted, moved to the area alongside the Army and the Police.

The patrol team found the body of an aged man known as Ahemba Apeelu at a sawmill whose throat was slit from Saav/Ukusu council ward.

The Invaders also killed Tersoo Yasough and a young lady known as Martha Ukange, unidentified bodies were also seen along the road.

An eyewitness said that the herdsmen were dressed in Military camouflage as a squard.
