“I wrote my JAMB on 25th April, 2023, I successfully submitted the quiz. I left Maiduguri for Biu local government, my initial hometown, yesterday, I got a message saying that my exam has been rescheduled for 6th May, 2023. I nearly slumped.” A lady who wished to stay anonymous stated.

Guardian of a candidate who was born April 2, 2003 said, “my daughter don’t have a phone, we can’t afford it, we decided to use her brothers SIM card to register for the 2023 JAMB examination, he died few days after her registration, we can’t find that sim, now we don’t know if she’s to write or not.”

Another male candidate who wrote and submitted his JAMB quiz successfully said “my phone was stolen, I went for a sim welcome back , I was told that my NIN is not linked to the sim. I don’t have access to anything about my JAMB now, but I was lucky to have paid 1661.25 to check my JAMB results, which shows ‘this candidate doesn’t have results yet.’ The computer machinery person then checked ‘Mop-Up examination slip for me, surprisingly, I was rescheduled to write exam tomorrow 6th May, 2023 around 2:30 in a different centre from University of Maiduguri ICT II that I wrote, now to Al-Muneer Int’L College (Motime Communication) Cbt/Professional Centre 2 Off Biu Road Maiduguri, Borno State.

The untimely changes in the Jamb saver, Authoboot browser etc has led to a massive glitch nationwide which will make hundreds and thousands of candidates lose out of the 2023 exercise.

It’s always shameful and pitiful that some public office dignitaries in a country like Nigeria will always strive to make thing hard for its citizens and professor Ishaq Olarewaju Oloyede, the registrar and chief executive of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has joined the trend.

JAMB under Ishaq  remitted  N52billion, due to measures put in place on “cost control, prevention of financial leakages and minimisation of financial corruption.” which is the cumulative return of the previous 40 years of the board.
Even though, a source revealed that, Prof. Ishaq was assured of the perfect functioning of the saver by his team of experts, yet he was woefully disappointed.

As an academia astute and applaud professor, who was assumed to have changed the narrative of the JAMB board is not expected to make such a gaffe. tempering the longtime used saver, that is used to conduct the annual exam should not be taken for granted or examining its consequence.

Education has not been prioritized in Nigeria even when it’s used to score points during elections. JAMB had recorded massive achievements under the leadership of Professor Ishaq, but then, they will record the worst exercise in 2023.
