Poor leadership affecting Yobe health sector: personnel absenteeism hitting the poor hard.

The nonchalant attitudes of our Health Personnel’s toward patients, usually the poor voter (the elites are not attending public health systems anyway!) is worrying. No one seems to be prepared to stand for the poor man whose votes put those leaders in power.
This is a case of a delicate health facility that was left insecure, unattended unstaffed, the something else in Yobe, one of the Laboratories at the General Hospital Damaturu (one of the pictures shows the name of the department). Blood bank left vulnerable and susceptible to contamination and infection, blood sample and specimen left so unattended and uncared for. How could one trust the outcome of whatever test being carried out? The life of the poor is becoming non-valuable to those they entrusted with leadership. This is so shameful.
Only poor leadership can leave situations to deteriorate to this extent. This may be the case across the entire state. There is no reason why the health personnel’s’ salaries have been paid from our collective wealth but no one to supervise if they are working to justify what they earn? Or at least to behalf professionally? What is the meaning of being taken at the Induction ceremonies of the medical and para-medical staff? Could that be taken seriously? Damning display of lack of professionalism supported by poor leadership!
I do not know who is directly responsible, but I knew there shall be a Commissioner for the Ministry of Health, The Head of the Hospitals Management Board, the Principal Medical Officer (PMO), and maybe an officer in charge of a shift. In terms of delegation of authority or devolution of same, these may be the representative of the Governor. They have failed and if no one will be there to sanction them, the Governor will fail and the poor man’s life will continue to be at risk.
As an aspiring journalist and one who loves Yobe and its people, I have a moral obligation to bring to the notice of the authorities whose doors are closed to the poor man, except this door (social media) which they will never be able to close.
The poor man expects the government of Yobe as a matter of conspicuous urgency investigate this matter thoroughly and attempt to fix the lapses. maybe with this, the poor man’s will be spared.
See some pictures to support this. A good Samaritan volunteered and sought anonymity.
Long live Yobe Sate
