Borno State Gov Babagana Umara Zulum had earlier today launched 610 taxis, tricycles and buses to enhance urban mass transportation in Maiduguri.
The Vehicles will operate in parts of Jere and Konduga LGA’s which fall under the metropolis.
Zulum also Gives N50m to 1,000 operators, targets 3,200 beneficiaries.
Gov Zulum had previously banned the importation of tricycle into the state which result to scarcity of transport within the state capital, Maiduguri.
It was also believed that, despite the banned, tricycles are smuggled to the state capital, Maiduguri. It was recalled that the government had on September 2021 stand famed and said they are not lifting the ban, but vow to intervene to bring end to the scarcity.
The distribution held at Ramat Square in Maiduguri, the state Capital at about 2:00pm
