He said that 128 bicycles, motorcycles and tricycles as well as 13 cars and buses and 25 pick-ups vans were involved in the crashes during the period

Ibrahim listed the major causes of road accidents which includes over speeding, night driving with poor lightening system and stress on the part of the drivers, especially inter-state drivers.

He said that most drivers on inter-state travels usually get fatigued as they travel between states without having to rest, he urged motorists to reduce night journeys, adding that most crashes that result in deaths usually occur at nights.

He also advised them to observe enough rest before embarking on any journey, he added that FRSC in the state would continue to sensitise and engage relevant stakeholders to enlighten motorists, while intensifying the enforcement of road safety rules.

Gombe FRSC boss attributed the low death rate in the first quarter of 2022, in spite of the number of crashes, to his team’s rapid response operation to road accidents.
