Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Ahmed Lawan stoned in APC mega rally

After narrowing escaped from irate crowds, Yobe State governor, Gov. Mai Mala Buni and the president of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, were stoned at Gashua, on Saturday 11 February, 2023. During APC mega rally in the state. Source confirmed to maidawaarewa about the occurrence of the censure.

Governor Buni, has commissioned Sheik Ngibrima Modern Market Nguru, Nguru local government, yesterday, one among the five built by the governor across major towns including the state capital, Damaturu.

Gov. Buni was accompanied by his counterpart, Gov. Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and the president of the senate, Ahmad Lawan.

After commissioning the market at Nguru, they proceeded to Gashua local government, the hometown of Ahmad Lawan for their party, APC mega rally,  which turn out to be a demonstration of irate by the people of Gashua.

“As they hand the microphone to the senate president, there was murmuring among the crowd, when he said ‘APC’ the crowd respond ‘power’. From then, a stick was thrown to the senate president from crowd followed by stones and sands toward the stand of the dignitaries.” Source told Maidawaarewa.

“The senate president and Gov. Buni were covered into a car that wasn’t there official care and driven to outskirts of the town for survival.” The source added.

Recalled that, Ahmad Lawan was declared the winner of the APC primary election by supreme court in Abuja, voiding the declaration of Hon. Bashir Machina as the winner of May 28, 2022. Primary election, and setting aside the judgments of federal high court Damaturu.
