City and Madrid settle for a 1-1 draw.

0

There’s nothing to separate Real Madrid and Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal as they play out a thrilling 1-1 draw.

City almost got off to the perfect start as they consistently create chances, with Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland seeing their efforts denied by Thibaut Courtois.

However, Madrid prove to have the UCL magic in their bones when Vinicius fires in an absolute rocket from 25 yards to give his side a lead at half time.

Despite being down to a goal in the second half, Pep Guardiola’s side took possession of the game and with just 20 minutes to the final whistle, De Bruyne’s brilliant finish level the score and puts City back into the game.

A 1-1 draw means, that the defending champions have got some work to do when they visit Etihad next week.
