North Must Vote Atiku To End Insecurity – Faringado

19

The Northern part of Nigeria, which is currently ravaged by insecurity, should not play the religion card in the 2023 general elections, rather, the North should vote the balanced ticket of Atiku Abubakar as the next President of Nigeria.

The call was made by a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Faringado Kazaure, in Abuja on Monday.

He noted that the current federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has failed Nigerians with its sheer incompetence over insecurity and daily killing of Nigerians.

Faringado added that voting the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in 2023 will amount to continuity of incompetence, hence the North and Nigerians generally should have a rethink.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is religious sensitive and he is not playing a religion card like the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu.

“The North should not fall for the antics of the APC based on religion card, otherwise the insecurity, which President Muhammadu Buhari cannot contain, will continue.

“Atiku Abubakar will end the menace of insecurity because he will be coming to office with fresh perspectives and workable solutions,” Faringado stated.

The former APC presidential aspirant spoke during the 60th birthday celebration of Apostle Eugene Ogu, General Overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission, over the weekend in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He noted that throwing money around to get votes would not solve Nigeria’s problems.

Amaechi also urged men of God to pray for the ordinary Nigerians to enable them elect a President that would solve the country’s problems.

According to Amaechi: “Those who voted at the APC primaries, who are they? They are ordinary Nigerians. The small money they got solved their immediate problem, now they are saying they made a mistake, you are now hearing different things.

“If you are praying for us, pray for the leadership of the country, but also pray for ordinary Nigerians to be able to choose the right President to govern the country.

“Giving money is not the solution to Nigeria’s problem. The solution to Nigeria’s problem is that all of you must all rise.”

During the APC presidential primaries in Abuja, Amaechi was beaten by the party’s flagbearer, Bola Tinubu.

The former Rivers State governor came second behind Tinubu who polled the highest number of votes.

Reports had it that the APC presidential primary was marred by vote-buying.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the electorate to vote the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general elections to ensure continuity in the polity, and stability in the country and West African region.

The President said this Friday while receiving a delegation from Nasarawa State led by Governor Abdullahi Sule at the State House, Abuja.

He said the off-season elections in Anambra, Ekiti and Osun States had confirmed his administration’s irreversible commitment to credible and violence-free polls in the country.

The President, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, told the high-powered delegation that the Electoral Act, signed by him earlier this year, was an attestation of the fulfilment of the administration’s determination and commitment to the tenets of the rule of law.

‘‘On the issues of credible, free and fair elections in the country, I have always re-assured my listeners both at home and abroad, my personal desire and indeed the priority of this administration is to bequeath to our nation an irreversible political process that continues to be both democratic and acceptable to the people.

‘‘My desire for our nation is that the 2023 elections should clearly mark the commencement of the institutional strength of our electoral body in conducting acceptable, credible and violence-free elections.

‘‘The forthcoming general elections will provide us with the opportunity to convince the electorate on the need for continuity to enable our party to consolidate on our achievements in the last 7 years. The Government and people of Nasarawa State, as usual, have a great role to play in returning our party to governance in the 2023 elections, in order to create a path for greater socio- economic growth and development. This is not only important for Nigeria alone but also for the West African Sub-Region.”

Buhari, who said Nasarawa remained very dear to his heart, described the State as the symbol of hope and determination in collective efforts to entrench democracy in Nigeria.

He recounted that during the 2011 general elections, the State stood out as the one that compensated the political efforts in the then Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), defying rigging and ensuring that their voices mattered.

‘‘To demonstrate this admiration and appreciation to the people of Nasarawa State, I personally attended the inauguration of Governor Tanko Al- Makura on May 29, 2011. In 2015 and 2019, the State remained one of the strongholds of our great party, the APC.

‘‘I am optimistic that the people of the State, the APC government and this broad representation of your delegation will not disappoint me, as we sustain concerted efforts in pushing forward the frontiers of good governance in our country.’’

While dismissing the report as malicious and borne out of ignorance of the brotherly relationship between El-Rufai and Shettima, Uba Sani pledged that the APC presidential ticket will extract most of its winning votes from Kaduna, where El-Rufa’i reigns supreme.

“I want to also deliver a goodwill message from my brother, Governor Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai of Kaduna State.I want to also say here that Governor El-Rufai has total support for our brother, His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima; we have worked together, we are brothers and we are friends,” he said.

Benue State governor, Dr Samuel Ortom has described the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi has impeccable credentials to preside over Nigeria.

Ortom stated this when Obi paid him a courtesy call at his private residence in Makurdi, Benue State. They met behind closed doors before a joint press briefing.

The PDP governor, according to a statement from Obi’s media team, said the LP presidential hopeful was one among those qualified Nigerians whom the people are looking forward to lead this country.

Ortom said the situation in the country calls for all to be careful and pray to God for leaders who mean well for the survival of this country.

He challenged presidential candidates of the various political parties ahead of the general elections to put Nigeria above personal interests.

According to him, Nigerians were in dire need of people with “commitment and competence” that would fix the leadership crisis that had plunged the country into outright chaos, noting that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate was one among those qualified Nigerians that the people were looking forward to having to take the country out of the leadership ,conundrum.

“Governor Ortom commended the decision of the former Anambra Governor to engage Nigerians, especially major players in the country’s politics, irrespective of political leaning on his desire to serve as the country’s next President.

“He said even though he was a major stakeholder of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the candidate considered him as a Nigerian to consult on his aspiration,” the statement read.

The Labour Party Presidential candidate also spoke about the reason why he visited the governor saying that the visit was to show respect to his former political ally in the PDP.

Obi noted that though they were now in different political parties, their friendship as citizens of the country was most important.

In his response to the question that he did not have the needed structures to win elections, Obi reiterated that the millions of Nigerians who had been impoverished by bad leadership over an extended period “are my structures to win.”

100m Poor Nigerians Make Up My Political Structure – Peter Obi

1

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, has revealed the number of Nigerians that make up his political structure.

Obi disclosed that his political structure is made up of 100 million Nigerians living in poverty.

The LP presidential candidate disclosed this after his meeting with Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.

According to the former Anambra State governor, all underprivileged Nigerians were his supporters.

“I have said it before when people talk about structure, that my structure [is] the 100 million Nigerians living in poverty.

“Those people who are finding it difficult to live. Nigerians are here today spending over 100% of their money on feeding, that is my structure. And above all, the most important structure is the Almighty God,” Obi said.

Some political stakeholders and commentators have accused Obi of lacking real-life political structure.

Commentators like Reno Omokri and Deji Adeyanju said Obi’s followers are only on social media and not in real-life.

They noted that Obi’s lack of grassroot supporters would be his greatest undoing during the 2023 presidential election.

Obi Has No Structure, He Can’t Win Because 90% Northerners Are Not On Social Media, Says Atiku

0

The Peoples Democratic Party (2023) 2023 Presidential candidate, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has said the Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate, Peter Obi has no political structure that can guarantee him victory.

He said Obi is expecting miracles and such miracle is difficult to come by.

The former Vice President said the Labour Party’s Presidential candidate is only visible on social media without any political structure across the country.

He said 90 percent of the northerners are not on social media and Obi’s candidature is not a threat to his chances.

Responding to a question on whether Obi is a threat to his chances, Atiku said, “I don’t expect Labour Party to make as much vote from PDP. We could have seen it in Osun.

“They claim they have 100 million supporters online but you saw what they scored in Osun. In fact, in the North, 90 percent of our people are not on the internet.

“Labour Party that does not have governor, members in the National Assembly, it doesn’t have State House of Assembly members. And politics in this country depend on the structure you have at these various levels.

“Structure at the local government level, State government and national level. So, it is very difficult to expect a miracle to happen simply because Peter Obi is in the Labour Party”.
