I am deeply saddened by the occurrence of such incidence and especially to a woman, but more worrisome that this was perpetrated under my name. I want to make it very clear that I am not a supporter of violence on any individual and I have zero tolerance to Gender Based Violence in whatever form.

I am categorically exonerating my humble self from this act and any of such that may occur in the future, it is on records that I am a staunch lover and supporter of economic self reliance and development, and that has a history even before I became a lawmaker representing the good people of Jere Federal Constituency, this fact has not changed and I am still on a drive to supporting the vulnerable and motivating many young people looking up to me as a role model.

I want to use this medium to assure the general public that since I received this news, I have alerted the relevant security agencies to carry out full investigation and bring the perpetrators of this to book and justice for Fadila will be served as appropriate.

I would want to reiterate the fact that I am and would never be a harbour to criminals and their acts, I do not support ECOMOGS as widely stipulated and I am in support of Governor Babagana Umara Zulums policy on banning of all thuggery activitiesacross Borno state and will ensure that together we achieve zero tolerance to any form of violence across our dear state.

On a final note, I sympathise with Ms. Fadila on the unfortunate incidence, and urge the general public to be calm while we find justice for Fadila. Be rest assured of my commitment to justice and betterment of the lives of the good people of Jere, Borno and by extension Nigerians as a whole.

FIX THE BOY CHILD

0

It’s time we have a conversation, about the menace caused by uncultured boys/men in our society.

It’s high time we agree to a fact that our silence on this issue is no longer golden, there’s need for all hands to be on deck, speaking alone isn’t enough, these words needs to be backed up by actions.

We must agree to a fact that “Millennials need Fixing”, starting from our patterns of dressing, the way we talk (silina tested), who we accept as our role models and most importantly the company’s we keep.

The idea of having pressure groups to represent our interests (especially during elcetion period) should be adopted on this issue too, in order to ensure that we’re all properly educated, informed and enlightened on how the action(s) of one uncultured man affects everyone in the society.

It’s high we as individuals and parents assume the responsibility of educating every boy child on the effects of drugs abuse, cultism, shisha smoking, cyber-stealing (Yahoo Yahoo or worst of all Yahoo-plus) and alcoholism.

We must engage the boy child mentally to ensure he maximizes the full potential of his psyche and enjoy fruits of its productivity.

As people of faith, let’s go back to the teachings of the Holy book to rekindle our wakened faith.

Fixing the boy child is my responsibility
Fixing the boy child is your responsibility too
It is the responsibility of every class room teacher
It is the responsibility of all our elected representatives
It is the responsibility of the Church as well as that of the Mosque

Fixing the boy child is part of building our society
Fixing the boy child today is part of saving the future generation

Fix the boy child today to ensure the girl child grows up protected and respected.
